Dan Japanese Restaurant was established in 2003 by Owner Chef Ken Oda and his wife, Tomoko. The restaurant is well known as the hidden Jewel of Kitsilano and remains a vibrant place in the community. ‘Dan’ meaning ‘Warmth’ in Japanese adds to the concept of offering a warm and relaxing style of hospitality.

The main ideology that is presented is to make simple dished derived from traditional Japanese recipes and inspired by local westcoast ingredients. This is displayed from their open bar kitchen. The variety of sake, wine and beer are carefully selected by the chef himself to compliment your meal. We hope you leave having a delicious, comforting meal as well as a warm experience.
